My first attempts at sewing. I got a sewing machine for Christmas this year. A friend of mine, Jennifer, has been teaching me how to make a dress when the girls are down for a nap at one of our houses. She has been very patient and helpful. Thanks Jen!! I still have to sew up the side and get someone to put Campbell's monogram on it but 90% complete. I am still experimenting with the pillows but maybe one day I will get them down pat. 
Well, it's a rainy morning in Birmingham.
Usually, we go on a morning walk but not today. I also do a Beth Moore Bible study on Thursday mornings but Campbell has a running nose so we are going to stay home. Sad, I have missed the last two weeks!! I am enjoying studying the Psalms of Ascent in my bible study. So what are we going to do inside this morning?
Well,Campbell had an idea. She got into my closet today and look what she pulled down my grandmother’s jewelry boxes. We decided to have a little fun in them. Right when I opened it up I could smell my grandmother’s house. It brings back so many memories. I can always remember going to my Grandma Jo's house and playing in these jewelry boxes. What a great time to tell Campbell about her Great Grandmother Jo this morning!
Wow, where do I begin. She is a lady that I dream of being. I am so thankful that Campbell was able to meet her a few times in her first year of life! My grandmother came last March to meet Campbell. Then again last summer, we went to Pittsfield and stayed with her. Little did I know the next time I would be going back up there was to tell her Goodbye! She loved Campbell! Some of my last memories with my grandmother will be those that we shared in the nursery home during her last few days. It took everything she had to enjoy these last few memories with us. One of those being the following: My aunt and I took Campbell on a walk and ended up passing by the nursery home again so we decided to go in and check on my grandmother. She was up and when I asked her if she would like to go on a stroll with us she was totally up for it!!! She went around and visited some of her friends that lived in the nursing home. She was so proud to show off her great granddaughter. She might have been dying but she still could remember everything. I hope that I have a mind like that when I get older. My last memory with her was when my dad, mom, brother, Campbell and I told her bye. We were up for a few days and it was time to head back to Alabama. I will never forget when my mom said let's say a little prayer before we go. My mom intended to be the one that was going to try to say it but that was not so. My grandmother said great and off she went. During the prayer, it was amazing to see how at peace she was and ready to go home. I knew that it would not be long. She was in pain and ready to be healed along with ready to see husband, parents, and our SAVIOR.
She was one of the people in my life that I looked to as a person of great faith. She was one that has inspired me and will continue to do so along my journey. With this being said, I hope that you will take a minute to remember what this life is about. Remember- Every obstacle we face and every battle we fight on the way will be worth it. He never promised us that life would be a piece of cake, but for those that believe in Jesus, the only difficulty we will experience will be right here on earth. Isn’t that an amazing thing! Look what we have to look forward 2!!!
Things I love:
Here are a few things that I love today about our precious daughter, Campbell. I love to hear Campbell playing in her bed in the morning. I love it when she dances to the music in her room.(She is pretty wild- I will have to capture it on video for all to see) I love when she gives me a kiss. I love when I am holding her and she will latch on for a big hug. I love the smiles she makes. I love how she says "Uh Oh!" while dropping her food on purpose to give to Maggie. I love how is tries to throw the kong for Maggie. I love how she will take off her shoes each time she gets in bed before taking her nap. I love when she plays bee a boo. These are just a few of many things I love about her. We are truly blessed to have such a sweet child.

Happy Valentine's Day!
We just celebrated Campbell's first birthday this past weekend. We had a great time! The weather was perfect so we could be in and out of the house. There were about 25 to 30 adults along with seven children. Campbell did not know what to think of her cake. She felt it once and that was it! She did not want to have anything to do with it! I do not think she liked being the center of attention at that particular moment. She was worn out by the time everyone left and slept for a good 3 hours before I woke her up.
Her actual birthday was this past Tuesday, February 12th. Mo and I took her to the zoo. It was a gorgeous day. Around 65 degrees! She loved looking at all the different animals. She really enjoyed the train ride! I think she is going to enjoy rides when she gets older. She loves to have the wind hit her face. I know she will be ready for some boat rides this spring and summer at the lake.
You always hear your parents say that we just grow up so fast. I never really thought that was true until Campbell. I cannot believe she is one. Man time flies! I have been very fortunate to be able to stay home with Campbell this year. It was the best decision I ever made. Here are a few pictures from her birthday party. .jpg)
